Landlord & Tenant Seminar

Walker Singleton & Ramsdens solicitors jointly hosted a legal update for residential landlords earlier this week at Huddersfield’s Media Centre. The seminar was well attended by fellow industry colleagues, corporate professionals, and private sector landlords from varying backgrounds.

Providing updates on recent legal changes surrounding notices for possession on Assured Shorthold Tenancies, as well as a whistle stop tour on the many upcoming compliance changes currently doing the rounds through Parliament, the talk was well received and an eye opener for many.

Our Residential Lettings Manager, and presenter on the day, Adam Powell commented ‘there are so many changes taking place in the private rented sector that both landlords and professionals are struggling to keep abreast of the law and finding that their investments are falling foul of regulations due to complicated, and often confusing new legislation. Whilst property investors are doing their upmost to keep up to date it’s vital free seminars like this are attended to ensure you are acting within the confines of the law. Further changes due to be announced in the next 12 months mean that landlords are having a tough time at the moment and it’s important that a close relationship is maintained with a regulated ARLA agent for constant updates.’
